Triple Strength Omega-3 Fish Oil
Omega-3 fatty acids, also known as polyunsaturated fatty acids, are essential to many of the body's functions, but cannot be synthesized by the body. Instead, to get the required amounts, they must be taken in from food or supplementation. Omega-3 fatty acids can be found in fish, such as pollock, salmon, cod, tuna, and halibut; other seafood, including algae and krill; and some plant and nut oils.
Omega-3 fatty acids play an important role in supporting cardiovascular and joint health, are important for brain function, and are crucial for normal growth and development. Most fish oil supplements are either available in ethyl ester form or triglyceride form. Structurally, the major difference between the two forms is that in ethyl ester form, the fatty acids (EPA & DHA) are esterified to an ethanol backbone, while in triglyceride (TG) form, the fatty acids are esterified to a glycerol alcohol backbone.
